Theme: Why I watch movies (as if I need a reason)...
Invitations

"Wanna watch a movie with me?" Invitations from friends or family (especially grandchildren) give me another reason to watch movies.
A granddaughter contacts me through Hangouts, "Grandma, have you seen [her latest most favorite movie] yet?" Even if we don't have a chance to view it together, I still watch it so we can discuss our favorite scenes.
And remember how much I enjoy movie Date Night? It's twice the fun when another couple invite us on a "double date" to the cinema, or when we gather at someone's home to watch a movie with a bunch of friends. In fact, some movies hit me as funnier while watching with the "gang".
I invite you to share your latest most favorite movie. What was your favorite scene?
Maybe someone extends an invitation to watch "Invitation" with Van Johnson and Dorothy Lamour...? (Never seen the movie, but the theme song is a jazz standard.)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a movie in I don't know how long, so I couldn't say what my favorite scene was.
@John ... That movie sounds good! I did a search for it and discovered it airs this morning on Turner Classic Movies but I don't get that channel with our basic cable. DRATS. Hopefully I can see it sometime.
ReplyDeleteI seem to have become known among my friends for my Movies and Munchies nights where I load peoples laps with pizza and popcorn and sit them in front of the telly for a couple of hours!
ReplyDeleteMy A-Z of Children's Stories
@Keith ... "Movies and Munchies" ... two of my favorite things!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter "invites" me to watch movies with her all the time. Mostly they are things to watch at home on Netflix but sometimes it is at the theater.
ReplyDeleteJanet’s Smiles
@Janet ... Fantastic! I love those invitations.
ReplyDeleteFor the most part I only watch movies at home and, if with someone else, I watch them with my wife. When she does accept my invitation to watch it's with the caveat that if she doesn't like the movie she'll stop watching. In those cases it means she falls asleep so I have to send her off to bed so her snoring doesn't take away from my movie viewing.
ReplyDeleteAfter all these years I pretty know what she will enjoy--or what I think she will enjoy. One thing that has been decided is that we both like The Greatest Showman--a lot. We have watched that one repeatedly since I bought it in September. This is partly because it's also a favorite of the 5 year old granddaughter who comes to spend time with us on occasion and she always wants to watch Showman so we end up watching it with her. It's not many movies I can watch over and over and keep enjoying the viewing experience as though it were my first time watching it.

Tossing It Out
@Arlee ... Ah, yes, I've watched many a movie over and over with grandkids. It can grow old fast!
ReplyDeleteIt's been awhile since I watched The Greatest Showman. I'm gonna add that to my movie binge list for when the A to Z Challenge ends.
