Theme: Making movie lines our own.
"As you wish."
In The Princess Bride (1987), Westley (Cary Elwes) answers "As you wish" whenever Buttercup (Robin Wright) makes a request of him.
Of course, this is another way of saying "I love you," and a great line to borrow.
Husband: Would you scratch my back, right between the shoulder blades?
Me: As you wish.
Me: It's been a rough day. Could you grab something for supper on your way home?
Husband: As you wish.
Son: Would you go on a cross-country road trip with me?
Me: As you wish!
Me: I'd love to have a mother/daughter date!
Daughter: As you wish!
And, like in the movie...
Grandchildren: Will you read a story to us?
Me: As you wish.
I love the movie and I love way you did this. Cute post.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the post.
DeleteNice! I don't think I ever saw the movie, and I read the book in, oh, 1978 or something. But I like the use of the line!

And I've seen the movie but have never read the book. :-)
DeleteTrudy, your theme is so much fun. I love using movie quotes in every day life. One of my old stand bys is "Go ahead. Make my day."
ReplyDeleteThat's a classic line, for sure! I love how some movie lines just stick with us.
