This is one of my favorite scenes in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels(1988). In this clip, highly successful con artist, Lawrence (Michael Caine), wants to discourage a woman from marrying him, so he enlists a small-time swindler, Freddy (Steve Martin), to pose as a simpleton brother in need of his care. "Ruprecht" will be part of the package if she insists on marriage.
OMgosh, this is right up there with one of my favorite movies and I know the scene very well!! I suspect you and I would be great movie-going friends if we lived in the same city! My hubby goes more for the sappy movies while I just silly humor.
You are right...we would be great movie-going friends!
By the way, I finally watched "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" (you recommended it to me awhile ago) and found it to be different, interesting, quirky, and well-acted. I watched it a couple weeks ago, but I still keep thinking about it. Thanks for the recommendation!
