When I realized what happened, I decided to just leave it as is.

We've seen (and enjoyed) Holiday in the Wild and The Holiday Calendar. And thanks to your suggestions, we added Silver Skates to our Netflix list and discovered our library has the DVD of One Christmas Eve, so I requested a hold on it. In your 'Yes Opportunities" post,...Trudy,

In your 'Yes Opportunities" post, I mentioned us trying our hand with a home-based business. This was something totally out of both of our comfort zones but more so for DH than me. He did it anyway and because of it, it pulled him out of his shy and awkwardness. Nowadays, he's the one who's the first to start a conversation with a strangers whereas it used to be me. I've grown more into an introvert over the years. I blame this on being a homebody for too long and I'm having to step out of my comfort zone to reclaim my lost outgoing spirit. Now, if only they'd actually do something with what they learn by opening their hearts to acts of kindness. It's simple. It makes you feel better as well as the person you're being kind to. After several months, maybe it was a year of that I decided I wasn't a salesperson and moved onto a conventional paying job. However, I gained a lot of excellent experience and knowledge I of how to computers worked - hooking up, networking, selecting software, ... for which I'm to this day grateful for all I learned in those early years. The next 'yes opportunity' is where we started a home-based business in the telecommunication industry in the mid to late 90s. After years of DH being one of the first people to get cut at work, we decided with his layoff around that time to say 'yes' to a MLM opportunity DH's older brother approached us about. Again, this was hard work, harder than what we imagined, and we couldn't make a stable living to keep things together but in the end we walked away learning many things about ourselves as well as others. Even when there are failures in those yes opportunities, there's usually valuable learning picked up that we otherwise wouldn't have gotten had we not said yes.Cathy Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01738079671642137018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6220008586703373188.post-30064221303824632532021-08-18T07:13:51.410-07:002021-08-18T07:13:51.410-07:00Trudy,

I think the day we stop being curious is the day we stop living. We're never too old to learn new things and that I think keeps us mentally sharp while making us feel youthful. I try to not put myself in a place where I might be victimized by others. Thankfully, I can protect myself for the most part because much of involvement with others is virtual and I'm super cautious. It's easier for me to be more careful online whereas face-to-face you come to regard others as closer friends and that's where you find oneself often in more danger of being taken advantage of in my opinion. We need to embrace oneself completely loving the person created us to be. We can't fit a particular mold because when God made us, He broke the mold to start again with the next. You suggested some good movie titles that feature characters with individual unique skill sets. Dirty Dozen is a great old film. The remake of Ocean's Eleven is fantastic. George Clooney and Brad Pitt are awesome in this movie, as well the series. My hope now is to collect my memories the best I can to put them down before they vanish from my head completely. Hopefully, we all transform over the years to become better people. We've seen a number of your movie suggestions listed.
