Riiiight.

Blogging from A to Z Challenge.
Theme: Making movie lines our own.

"Riiiiight."

I love the sound of Patrick Warburton's voice, so I get a kick out of Kronk, the character he lends voice to in The Emperor's New Groove (2000). In this scene, Yzma (voice of Eartha Kitt) reminds Kronk to serve a poisoned drink to the emperor.

YZMA
Kronk, the emperor needs his...drink!

KRONK
Drink...
(winks)
Riiiiight.

He says "riiiiight" a couple times in this clip, once approximately 45 seconds in, and again around 1:35....

Kronk's "riiiiight" indicates he understands, gets the message, but our family uses it to tease uh huh, sure, get real, like that's ever going to happen...

For instance...

I'm going for a run.
Riiiiight.

This task will only take a minute.

Riiiiight

I can prepare the remaining A to Z posts during the four days I stay with grandkids.

  1. We use that line sarcastically at my house too. I've never seen Emperor's New Groove, so I didn't know it came from there. Interesting! :)

    1. We've used "riiiiight" for years, too (it's great for sarcasm, huh!), but ever since watching Emperor's New Groove, we try to imitate the sound of Patrick Warburton's voice when we say it. Fun!
